Marka is the older brother of Thera. His parents succumbed to illness when he was 14, from which time he raised his younger brother. When Rara Gre Chapu came to Kopakasot he was part of the mob that pursued her out of town. He was the sole returnee when the mob was massacred/captured by her Chabasi warriors (he escaped by feigning death after he was injured).
