Battle Of Sandy Creek
|
|
The Battle of Sandy Creek was fought in the Forest of Surreality between the forces of Yah and the forest natives.
Yah's claim over the forest, always tentative, was severly shaken after the death of Thaymus at the hands of Number Red. Yah wished to destroy Red's resistance movement and reassert his authority.
The forces of Yah were led by Akanthe, one of his top generals. She was given command of 10,000 infantry, made up of over 8,000 prisapia Holy Knights, over 1,000 melanotio, and over 500 ignotio. Also present were the great gods Karnas and Umperiot. All were transported to the forest by Yah, the journey taking 500 years.
Red was unofficial leader by acclaim. Pledged to fight with him were 2,600 ignotio, 1,500 prisapia and 500 melanotio. The great god Formidae/Vespirie also aided.
After camping south of Sandy Creek, Akanthe's forces advanced north, killing any creatures they encountered. As they crossed the creek they were engaged by Red's forces. Casualties on both sides were light, and they withdrew to their respective banks as night fell.
Akanthe led her forces across the creek and into a clearing, where she delivered a pronouncement to Red's forces, who were within earshot. She promised to leave the forest, if Red was turned over to her. Not getting a response, she ordered an attack.
